What he is saying is that it doesn’t matter how smart or dumb you are characteristics always come first. Let’s say you are a straight a student but you are a bully. Let’s say you are dumb but you are nice, gentle, and kind. So yes a characteristic does come before intellects but don’t forget characteristics won’t get you into college though. It’s good to have a good personality but it’s better to have good grades and personality too.
